Why buy local?

When I first started this journey, I had a heartfelt conversation with my parents. They’ve always supported my dream wholeheartedly, but they wondered how I could compete with the flowers found in stores. This reminded me that educating people about the benefits of locally grown flowers is an essential part of my mission.

When you pick up a bouquet at stores, do you think about where those flowers came from? Probably not—and you’re not alone. Most people who buy flowers don’t know their origin. Many flowers come from massive farms in Kenya, Colombia, Ecuador, and the Netherlands, where systematic pesticides and fungicides are often used to manage pests and diseases to enhance growth. These flowers are then shipped overseas by aircraft’s.

By choosing locally grown flowers, you not only shorten the distribution chain and reduce your carbon footprint but also get the freshest blooms possible while supporting our local economy.

The Journey of Imported Flowers:

  1. Foreign Growers
  2. Importer (via aircraft)
  3. Wholesaler
  4. Florists/Grocery Stores
  5. You

The Journey of Local Flowers:

  1. Our Farm
  2. You

Our growing techniques might require more effort, but I am proud to contribute to a sustainable environment and a supportive community. It brings me immense joy to see bees and butterflies thriving in our fields, enjoying the fruits of our labor just as much as we do.

The act of giving and receiving flowers brings undeniable joy. Thank you for making the conscious choice to buy local and for helping my dream blossom!
